Arijit Singh, Ajith Kumar Receive Prestigious Honours

The Padma Awards 2025 ceremony was held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in Delhi on Monday, honoring the individuals for their contributions to various fields. President Droupadi Murmu presented the honors to several notable personalities, including well known names from the entertainment industry.

Bollywood playback singer Arijit Singh, veteran actor Nandamuri Balakrishna, and Tamil film superstar Ajith Kumar were honored with their Padma Awards. Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur and musician Ricky Kej also received the Padma Bhushan, and the legendary ghazal singer Pankaj Udhas was honored posthumously.

South Indian star Ajith Kumar received the Padma Bhushan for his excellent 32 year career with 63 films. Earlier in January after the announcement of the awards Ajith extended gratitude to President Murmu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The 2025 Padma Awards honored 139 individuals in various categories including arts, social work, science and technology, literature, education, medicine, and other fields. The ceremony was streamed live on YouTube.
