Indian actress Ankita Lokhande called off her upcoming USA tour. She explained that she is cancelling the event out of respect for the victims of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam. The heart-wrenching attack took place on April 22.
On Wednesday, Ankita took to her Instagram handle and shared a post in which she stated how it would not be right to go ahead with the tour at this time. She wrote, “Hello everyone, with a heavy heart, I want to share that we are cancelling my upcoming USA shows. In light of the tragic terror attacks in Pahalgam and the pain our nation is going through, I feel it would not be right to go ahead with the tour at this time.” She added, “My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families. As an Indian, I stand with everyone grieving this heartbreaking loss.”
Ankita further clarified that the show is not being permanently cancelled and that the dates of the tour will be rescheduled when the time is appropriate. She concluded, “I look forward to meeting you all soon under better and more peaceful circumstances. Thank you for your love, understanding, and constant support.”
Famed for her performance in Pavitra Rishta, the actress is most recently seen on Laughter Chefs 2 with her husband, Vicky Jain. The duo recently took a joyful trip to Mauritius along with friends Chetna Pande, Nishank Swami and Isha Malviya.
On her work front, Ankita has done reality TV shows such as Comedy Circus, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa season 4 and Bigg Boss 17, Alongside television, she also appeared in film, including Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi and Baaghi 3.
