Is Disney Offering Half Salary To Avengers Fame Jeremy Renner For Hawkeye S2? Here’s What He Said

Actor Jeremy Renner gained fame for his character, Hawkeye, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Later, he got his own show, which was named after his character. While the first season was a major hit but the second season of the show did not come. People assumed Renner’s gravely dangerous snowplow accident in 2023 was the reason behind all this. However, the actor recently disclosed that he turned down the show regarding his remuneration.

Jeremy Renner turned down Hawkeye S2

During an interview with High Performance, Renner disclosed that he was approached for season 2 of Hawkeye, but they offered him half his salary for the show. Renner said, “They asked me to do a season two, and they offered me half the money. I’m like, wow. It’s going to take me twice the amount of work for half the amount of money. And so eight months of my time essentially, and I have to do it for half.”

Jeremy also talked about his lethal snowplow incident. He went on to say, “I’m like, I’m sorry. Did you think I’m only half the Jeremy because I got ran over. Maybe that’s why you want to pay me half of what I made on the first season. And this is not Marvel, not even Disney, it’s just the penny pinchers, the accountants. I told them to go fly a kite, just at the insult offer.”

Hawkeye was released in December 2021 based on the Marvel comics. The story of the series centres on Clint Barton. The cast of Hawkeye included Jeremy Renner, Hailee Steinfeld, Tony Dalton, Fra Fee, Brian d’Arcy James, Aleks Paunovic, Piotr Adamczyk, Linda Cardellini, Simon Callow, Vera Farmiga, Alaqua Cox, Zahn McClarnon, Florence Pugh and Vincent D’Onofrio.

Hawkeye S1 was a tremendous hit. However, regardless of the success of the series, the next season could not be made after the actor opted out.
