The jury selection process for the high-profile trial of music mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs’ sex trafficking case is coming to an end. Legal representatives of Combs said on Tuesday a jury would be seated by Wednesday. The court has been painstakingly sifting through the list of finding the jurors who are able to keep their minds straight and consider the severe charges Combs faces.
Screening For Fairness
Dozens of prospective jurors have been extensively questioned over the last two days as part of the jury selection process. The objective has been to find people who can impartially and objectively judge the evidence heard during the trial. Due to Combs’ fame and the seriousness of the charges, attorneys on both sides have insisted that any possible bias among jurors be eliminated.
Detailed Pattern Of Exploitation
Prosecutors allege that Sean recruited, enticed, harbored, transported and maintained Victim-2. They further claimed that, he attempted, aided and willfully caused Victim-2 to engage in commercial sex acts. The indictment also accuses him of transporting Victim-2 and other sex workers across both state and international borders with intent that the individuals engage in prostitution.
Past Charges On The Rapper
Diddy was facing three serious federal charges which were racketeering, conspiracy and sex trafficking and transporting individuals for illegal purposes. According to the prosecutors, the new allegations basically details how combs and his associates allegedly lured women into exploitative situations under the situations. Prosecutors claim that some of these incidents took place over several years and across multiple state.
