Actress Jasmin Bhasin has been at the centre of controversy lately, following a statement she made about YouTuber Elvish Yadav on the set of Laughter Chefs. Her comment which was made as a joke led to a backlash from Elvish’s fans.
Recently, Laughter Chefs judge Harpal Singh has come forward to defend Jasmin and clarifying that her statement were misinterpreted.
Harpal Singh Explains Jasmin’s Intentions
During the conversation with Zoom/Telly Talk, Harpal Singh addressed the ongoing controversy and explained that Jasmin’s intention was not to disrespect Elvish and her words are highly misinterpreted. He said, “Jasmin ji’s way of saying it had a different meaning. It wasn’t that she meant to say you should give someone else a chance. People didn’t listen to the whole conversation. I was there, and I even said, ‘brother, he works so hard.’ Both of us are often catching early morning flights to get back to Delhi. I have my restaurant work there, and Elvish also has his other commitments, like creating content or attending shows.”
Harpal Singh On Elvish Yadav
Speaking about Elvish, he further said, “Everyone thinks Elvish bhai is just lazying around, but that’s not true. He’s incredibly hardworking. This show ends, and the next day he’s off to another show. He finishes that show at 11 PM, then catches a 4 AM flight, and by 6 AM, he’s back on set.”
Harpal Singh also compared Elvish Yadav’s dialogue delivery style to that of the late Irrfan Khan, saying “Elvish has his own punchlines, his own unique style. He’s truly hardworking, and it’s important for people to recognise that.”
Harpal Singh’s clarification has now gained attention and people have gained a much-needed clear perspective to the controversy.
