The much-anticipated Aamir Khan’s film Sitaare Zameen Par has reportedly been postponed. The film was originally scheduled to hit cinemas on 20 June 2025 but now has been delayed due to the growing cross-border tensions.
Decision Taken Amid Nationwide Alert
According to the sources, Aamir Khan Productions has made this decision in the light of recent growing tensions at the border. A spokesperson said, “Concerning the ongoing developments at the country’s borders and the nationwide alert, Aamir Khan Productions have decided to postpone their upcoming film Sitaare Zameen Par’s trailer. Our thoughts are with the brave hearts of our armed forces who remain steadfast in protecting the nation. As responsible citizens, we believe it is important to respond with unity and restraint during this time.”
Sequel To Taare Zameen Par
The film is considered to be a sequel to Aamir Khan’s 2007 directorial debut Taare Zameen Par, which received widespread acclaim for its emotional storytelling and social message.
The film’s poster which was released earlier was seen featuring Aamir Khan alongside ten debutant actors- Aroush Datta, Gopi Krishna Varma, Samvit Desai, Vedant Sharma, Ayush Bhansali, Ashish Pendse, Rishi Shahani, Rishabh Jain, Naman Mishra and Simran Mangeshkar.
The fresh cast has sparked excitement among audiences and fans.
Sitaare Zameen Par is directed by R.S. Prasanna, known for his socially thoughtful film Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. The screenplay is penned by Divy Nidhi Sharma, and the film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions.
