Akshay Kumar has officially wrapped up shooting for his much awaited horror comedy, Bhooth Bangla, co-starring Wamiqa Gabbi and directed by Priyadarshan and reportedly the film is all set to release next year.
Now in a recent development, according to a report by Pinkvilla, director Amit Rai, known for OMG 2 is in talks with Akshay Kumar to discuss ideas for the next installment in the franchise OMG 3.
Pinkvilla quoted the source, “Amit Rai had multiple ideas for OMG 3, and he discussed all the plot points with Akshay Kumar throughout the stay. The duo brainstormed on all the ideas, and also discussed possible new routes that could be taken in OMG 3. The intent is to continue with the most loved franchise, and take the third part on floors in 2026.”
Expectations are high from the third installment so the makers are carefully shaping the narrative before moving forward and if things fall into place OMG 3 will goon floors by the second half of 2026, Pinkvilla quoted the insider,“Following the success of OMG and OMG 2, the stakes are high and the makers are keen to make a third part. It is a big responsibility, and hence, they are in no hurry to just rush through the process of OMG 3.”
Oh My God! is a 2012 satirical comedy drama film written and directed by Umesh Shukla. The film stars Mithun Chakraborty, Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal in leading roles. And the sequel, OMG 2 is a 2023 comedy drama written and directed by Amit Rai. It stars Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam.
Earlier, Akshay posted a behind the scenes look at a song shoot of Bhooth Bangla on Instagram and wrote, “And that’s a wrap on #BhoothBangla ! My seventh madcap adventure with the ever-inventive Priyan sir, my second outing with the unstoppable Ekta, and my first but hopefully not the last, magical journey with the ever-surprising Wamiqa. Grateful for the madness, the magic, and the memories.”
Meanwhile, Akshay was last seen in ‘Kesari Chapter 2’, and he’s also gearing up for the release of ‘Housefull 5’, which is set to hit cinemas on 6 June 2025.
