Hai Junoon Fame Elisha Mayor Speaks About Working With Jacqueline Fernandez, Sanjay Leela Bhansali And More
Elisha Mayor is winning hearts with her performance in the latest web series ‘Hai Junoon’. From starting her journey as a dancer at just 3 to participating in Miss India and transitioning to acting, she has come a long way. In an exclusive interview with News24, Elisha talks about her experience in Hai Junoon, working with Sanjay Leela Bhansali and more.
While talking about her journey on Hai Junoon, she says, “The journey was really long, tiresome, but very fulfilling at the same time. We shot for fifty-five days, and we rehearsed for more than, I think, seventy to eighty days. It has been a long journey. All of the cast members are literally like a family.”
She adds, “I think the difficult and the challenging part of it was the fact that we had to dance and perform, our characters, which are so layered every day. We would shoot and then go to rehearsals directly from the shoot.”
Praising Jacqueline and her dedication to work, Elisha reveals, “Jacqueline is such a senior actor. Every time she would be on stage, we would all observe. She knows the camera so well. She knows her angle so well. So what you can learn from a lead actor, a lister like her is how to present yourself in the best way while also performing like an exceptional artist. And she was very encouraging. She would always partake in our jokes.”
“The biggest takeaway from working with her was the fact that she’s very calm and composed when she’s on set. But to fit us with the message, she would always joke and be very polite, professional, and also have fun. At the same time and exceptionally good with the camera”, she says.
Elisha also participated in Miss Universe India in 2018. Recalling how she transitioned to acting after participating in pageants, Elisha shares, “I always knew I want to do pageants because I want to get into acting. And pageants talent management agency and that opens doors and opportunities is free to be noticed and to work.”
“I left that pageant feeling very encouraged and motivated and feeling confident in myself because I also saw young girls coming and nobody is perfect. But you learn how to present yourself in the best and most confident way because you have accepted yourself and accepted your flaws, and still you go out and you’re confident in the world. That’s what I learned from the project.”
Many don’t know that Elisha also worked with Sanjay Leela Bhansali in Heeramandi. Recalling her experience of working with the filmmaker, she says, “You have to be prepared. You have to be ready. You have to bring your a game on. It is pure magic because he knows how to collaborate with artists. He respects artists and what you bring to the table. And, yes, he is a perfectionist. He is very strict.”
“But I loved working with him. I did about two songs with him, but I think now I know when I go back to visit, I wanna work with him as an actor,” she concludes.
