With the release of Kuberaa just around the corner, the buzz surrounding the Dhanush starrer continues to grow. The social thriller also stars Nagarjuna Akkineni Rashmika Mandanna and is all set to hit theaters on June 20.
The film has built high expectations, but apart from the story and performances, what’s grabbing attention is the reported fee structure of the lead actors.
As per Koimoi’s report, Kuberaa is made on a budget of around Rs 120 crores.
According to Dainik Jagran, Dhanush, who plays the lead character Deva, is charging a whopping Rs 30 crore, which is estimated to be 36% of the total film budget. With his popularity across South India and strong screen presence, the actor is the highest paid star in Kuberaa.
Veteran actor Nagarjuna Akkineni, who plays a shadowy character named Deepak, is reportedly earning Rs 14 crore for his role, as per Filmibeat. His intense look in the trailer has already caught fans attention.
Meanwhile, as per Big V Live’s reports, Rashmika Mandanna, who plays the emotionally layered role of Sameera, has taken a pay cut for this film. Despite her growing stature in pan-Indian cinema, she’s reportedly charging Rs 4 crore.
The film recently received a U/A certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The final version of the film is now 181 minutes long, just over three hours. Originally, the makers had submitted a 195-minute version, which was also approved. However, they had mentioned earlier that they might shorten it later to avoid last-minute stress.
Kuberaa has reportedly undergone 19 cuts by the CBFC, with about 14 minutes removed.
