Korean drama actress Lee Seo Yi, whose real name was Song Soo-yeon, tragically passed away on June 20, 2025, at the age of 43. Her manager confirmed the news through a post on social media, which shocked her fans around the world.
Her manager, posting on behalf of her parents, wrote, “Hello, This is Song Seo Bin, the manager of actress Lee Seo Yi. I’m writing this to let you know that my brilliant, beautiful, prettty, and kind unnie became a star in the sky on June 20. I know you all must be shocked and heartbroken by the news of her passing, but please pray that unnie goes to a beautiful place. Lee Seo Yi was born on April 18, 1982 in South Korea. She graduated from Hankuk University of Foreign Studies with a degree in Czech and Slovak language, and then did her postgraduation from Pusan National University.
She made her acting debut in 2013 with the historical drama ‘Hur Jun, The Original Story’. Her role in ‘Cheongdam-dong Scandal’ earned her special recognition. She then gave brilliant performances in films like ‘The King’, ‘Killing Romance’ and ‘Scarlet Innocence’. Her last role was in the romantic comedy ‘The Divorce Insurance’, in which she starred alongside Lee Dong Wook and Lee Da Hee.
