Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar Teaser Sparks Debate Over 20-Year Age Gap With Sara Arjun

Ranveer Singh’s intense first look from Dhurandhar, directed by Uri filmmaker Aditya Dhar, has sent fans into a frenzy. But what also caught everyone’s attention was the introduction of the film’s only confirmed female lead so far Sara Arjun. A known name in South cinema and among India’s top child artists, Sara is now making a giant leap into Bollywood as the heroine opposite Ranveer.

The upcoming film is already making waves not just for its action packed teaser, but also for casting 20 year old Sara Arjun opposite the 40 year old actor. This 20 year age difference sparked widespread discussions on social media.

See what the netizens have to say:

Sara was born on June 18, 2005, in Mumbai. By the age of five, she had appeared in over 100 advertisements, becoming a familiar face on Indian television through brands like McDonald’s, Maggi, detergent and chocolate ads.

She got real recognition by playing the emotional character of Vikram’s daughter ‘Neela’ in the 2011 Tamil film ‘Deiva Thirumagal’. After this, Sara worked in many films in both Hindi and Tamil languages, including ‘Ek Thi Daayan’, ‘Jazbaa’, ‘Saivam’ and Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ I and II. She also played the young version of Aishwarya Rai’s character in this historical film.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film will feature Ranveer along with Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Akshaye Khanna and Arjun Rampal. Official information about the story of the film has not been revealed yet, but it is being said that it may be inspired by the life of India’s spy and former National Security Advisor Ajit Doval. The teaser, however, confirms that it is based on true events.

The film is slated for release on December 5, setting the stage for a box office clash with Prabhas’ The RajaSaab.
