Meghalaya Honeymoon Case

The Meghalaya Honeymoon Murder case made headlines in May 2025. Just ten days after their wedding, Raja Raghuvanshi and his wife Sonam set off on their honeymoon in Shillong. They went on a trek near Nongriat village with a local guide, but then they went missing..

The next day, their rented scooter was found abandoned in Sohrarim. On June 2, Raja’s decomposed body was discovered in a deep gorge near Wei Sawdong Falls. Sonam remained missing until she surrendered in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, five days later.

Police investigations revealed a shocking conspiracy. Sonam was allegedly involved in orchestrating the murder, with the help of her 20 year old boyfriend Raj Kushwaha, who is reportedly said to have brought in three other men Vishal Chauhan, Akash Rajput, and Anand Kurmi to help carry out the killing. Raja was reportedly attacked with machetes, and police believe the murder was planned in advance.
