Fans of ‘Wednesday’ can rejoice as Netflix has renewed the show for its third season. It is surprising news for the audience as ‘Wednesday Season 2’ is yet to premiere. The show is already making headlines due to its gritty plot, incredible performances, and the return of the beloved Addams family.

Announcing the third season, Netflix wrote, “Season 2 awakens in two weeks. Season 3 is the next omen, already in motion, already inevitable.”

Wednesday stars Jenna Ortega in the title role. Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Georgie Farmer, Naomi J. Ogawa, and Moosa Mostafa will reprise their roles from the previous season. Steve Buscemi, Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor have joined the show as the new cast. Meanwhile, Lady Gaga, Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Thandiwe Newton, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo will be seen as new guest stars.

The show focuses on Wednesday Addams, a 13-year-old girl with psychic abilities, enrols in a new school called Nevermore Academy. Things soon turn dark after Wednesday witnesses a killing spree and decides to solve the mystery behind it.

Jenna Ortega has also turned producer for the second season. While speaking about the show, she told Tudum, “Wednesday Addams is one of the coolest characters of all time, so to have gotten the opportunity to play her once was incredible, and then to be able to slip into the costume and tone again, it’s so much fun. She runs circles around everyone she has a conversation with, so to play someone who’s so much more intelligent than you will ever be, it’s quite funny and strange and enjoyable.”
