51-year-old Tabligi Jamaat attendee dies in Tamil Nadu; second death in state
As India enters day 10 of the nationwide coronavirus lockdown, the number of cases from each state are seeing an increase daily.
With a whopping 102 positive cases in a single day, Tamil Nadu is second on India’s COVID-19 chart with the total positive cases reaching 411. The highest cases reported are from Maharashtra with the number reaching almost 500.
The Union Health Ministry on Friday said about 30 per cent of all positive cases in the country was linked to the ill-advised congregation of Tablighi Jamaat at Nizamuddin Markaz in Delhi. As for the 960 foreigners who came on a tourist visa and participated in Tablighi activities, the Union Home Ministry ruled out immediate deportation.
