Kiran Kumar out of verdict in Vismaya case : The court found him guilty

Kollam: The court has found Kiran Kumar guilty in the Vismaya case. The verdict was passed by the Kollam Additional Sessions Court. The verdict in the case comes 11 months later.

On June 21, Vismaya, an Ayurveda graduate student, was found hanging in her husband’s house. The next day, Kiran Kumar was arrested by the police. For the prosecution, 42 witnesses, 120 documents and 12 bribes, including phones, were produced in court. Defendant, however, contended that phone conversations and messages could not be taken as evidence. Kiran Kumar, a Transport Department official, was sacked after a departmental inquiry.

Prior to the verdict, Vismaya’s father Trivikraman Nair had said that Kiran should be given exemplary punishment. Trivikraman Nair said that the investigation was outdated. He said that Kiran would suffer at least a quarter of what his daughter had suffered and that Kiran Kumar had threatened her while she was in jail.
