Breast cancer is becoming a big issue for women. But now, there’s hope for a solution. A student from IIT Kanpur created a smart bra to find breast cancer early. It could help a lot of women.
As per the report, guided by Prof. Amitabh Bandopadhyay from the Department of Biosciences and Bioengineering, researcher Shreya Nayar has developed this smart bra. Shreya thinks that breast cancer is spreading fast because people don’t find out they have it early enough.
This smart bra works amazingly. It has a special sensor that quickly notices any changes in the breast. If it finds early signs of breast cancer, the sensor sends an alert right away. This helps women find the disease very early and get treatment. Shreya says the prototype of this smart bra is done, and they are testing it with patients.
You only need to wear this bra for one minute each day. It connects to a mobile phone and collects all the data. If the sensor finds anything unusual, it sends a message to the mobile phone and tells the woman to see a doctor.
They are testing this smart bra in hospitals now. If it works well, it might be in stores in a year. It will cost about Rs 5,000. Scientists say there isn’t anything like it out there right now.
