Significance Of Ganga Dussehra 2025
Ganga Dussehra commemorates the day that goddess Ganga came to Earth. She went to Earth to purify the souls of King Bhagirath’s ancestors and redeem mankind from sins. According to Hindu mythology, King Bhagirath performed great penance for Ganga to come to Earth from heaven; however, Ganga poured with great force that could have caused destruction on Earth, so Lord Shiva caught her in his matted hair.
So the belief is that anyone who bathes in the Ganges on this day shall be redeemed of all their sins. It clears all negative energies and will bring peace and spiritual development.
