Make This Light And Crispy Snack At Home With Ease News24 –

Indulge in the delicious and healthy flavours of Sabudana Appe, a dish widely enjoyed across both North and South India. Sabudana Appe is a traditional preparation, often served during fasting days when people observe a complete fast. Follow this simple step-by-step guide to make this tasty recipe at home.

Ingredients

  • Oil
  • 1–2 green chilies (finely chopped)
  • 1 medium boiled potato (mashed)
  • Pinch of Salt (or sendha namak for vrat)
  • 1 cup of Sabudana (soaked overnight)
  • 1 tsp of cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves
  • 2 tbsp roasted and crushed peanuts

Step By Step Guide

Rinse The Sabudana

First, thoroughly rinse and soak the sabudana in a medium-sized bowl for about 5–6 hours, or leave it overnight. Once the pearls become soft, drain any excess water completely.

Make The Mixture

In the next step, take a bowl and mix together mashed potatoes, soaked sabudana, cumin seeds, salt, chopped coriander leaves, green chilies, and crushed peanuts. Combine well to form a dough-like mixture.

Heat The Appe Pan

Now, take an appe pan and heat it over medium heat. Lightly grease it with vegetable oil to prevent sticking.

Shape The Mixture

After completing the above steps, rub 1–2 drops of oil on your palms, take a generous portion of the mixture, and roll it into small balls. Gently place them into the heated appe pan.

Cook The Appe

Moving on to the next step, cover the pan and cook the appe over medium heat for about 2–3 minutes on one side. Then, flip them carefully and cook for another 1–2 minutes, or until they turn crispy and golden brown.

Serve The Dish

Once you’re done with the above steps, remove the appe from the pan and serve hot with green chutney. Enjoy!
