Navratri 2025 Day 2: The Goddess of wisdom and penance, Maa Brahmacharini, is worshipped on the second day of Navratri. Clad in a white saree, the goddess holds a Kamandal (water pot) in her left hand and a Japa Mala (prayer beads) in her right. Devotees chant “Om Devi Brahmacharini Namah” to worship Goddess Brahmacharini.
Navratri Day 2: Dos
- Wear Traditional Red Clothes: Navratri Day 2 colour is ‘Red’. So, it is considered auspicious to wear a red outfit, the color associated with the second day.
- Offer Prayers To Goddess Brahmacharini: Perform puja and offer flowers, incense, and sweets to the Goddess.
- Observe Fasting: If you’re observing fast, eat permitted foods and stay hydrated
- Chant Mantras: Recite “Om Devi Brahmacharini Namah” or listen to the Durga Chalisa
- Donate: Doing Charity brings good fortune
- Keep Your Surroundings Clean: Keeping your surroundings clean is important to enhance the sanctity of prayers.
Navratri Day 2: Don’ts
- Avoid Non-Veg food And Alcohol: During Navratri, one should not eat meat or drink alcohol.
- Avoid Using Harsh Words: Stay positive, maintain positivity in speech.
- Avoid Conflicts: Do not argue or engage in conflicts during Navratri.
- Don’t Use Heavy Makeup or Jewelry: Keep things modest during puja.
- Avoid Smoking: Do not smoke during the holy period.
- Don’t Skip The Puja: Participate in the puja rituals.
