Anant Ambani inspired watch costs whopping Rs 137277525, has 397 rare gems, animals and Mukesh Ambani’s son in the middle
Mukesh Ambani is the richest person in India and his youngest son Anant Ambani is a well-known Indian businessman, leading Reliance’s energy business. Anant Ambani is also a popular wildlife conservationist and runs an animal rescue, care, and rehabilitation centre called Vantara in Jamnagar district Gujrat. Apart from his, Mukesh Ambani’s son is also a renowned watch collector and is said to own few of the most rare and expensive watches in the world. Most of these interests of Anant Ambani came into the spotlight while he was getting married to Radhika Merchant in Jamnagar. In between the wedding ceremonies, he took guests including CEOs, business tycoons and others to tour Vantara. During that time, he also gifted rare watches to a few of his closest friends. Vantara is said to be very close to the Ambani family and especially to Anant Ambani and to honour the place and young Ambani’s efforts, what could be a better way to honour him than an exclusive watch. As a respect to Anant Ambani and his efforts towards Vantara, famous luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co has released a new masterpiece that costs Rs 13,72,77,525.
With 397 stones totaling 21.98 carats, the special watch has a hand-painted figurine of Anant himself at the centre of the dial, symbolising stewardship and responsibility. Surrounding him, finely detailed depictions of a lion and a Bengal tiger represent the wildlife Vantara is dedicated to protecting. Framing the scene is a green camouflage gemstone motif, crafted from demantoid garnets, tsavorites, green sapphires, and white diamonds.
“Demantoid garnets bring flashes of electric green, tsavorites add rich saturation, green sapphires introduce tonal variation, and white diamonds provide light and structure.” the brand said in an Instagram post. Although the company has not yet revealed the price of the watch officially, a few posts suggest that it costs around $1.5 million (Rs 13,72,77,525).
Jacob Arabo, the founder of Jacob & Co, has been associated with the Ambani family for a very long time and he was also there in Jamnagar to attend the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. Nita Ambani also owns a few of the rare watches designed by him.
