New Delhi: Shiv Sena MP Shrikant Shinde on Tuesday recited the Hanuman Chalisa in the Lok Sabha when prompted by an Opposition member if he knew the complete verses of the hymn.
Shrikant, the son of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, was speaking during the no-confidence motion debate in the House when he said there was a time in Maharashtra when even reciting Hanuman Chalisa was not allowed when an opposition member questions him if he knows it.
The MP from Maharashtra’s Kalyan then hits back, saying “I know the complete Hanuman Chalisa” and starts reciting the verses evoking applause from his fellow members in the Lok Sabha.
