New Delhi: A shocking incident has come to the fore from Jharkhand’s Ranchi district where a former BJP MLA can be seen physically assaulting a youth for allegedly filming women while taking a bath. The matter became the talk of the town recently when its video surfaced online.

In the short clip, BJP leader Devendra Kunwar was caught on cam kicking the youth and forcing him to do sit-ups. The man, identified as Tauseef, was even asked to lick his own spit. It is being said that the gruesome episode took place on Sunday.

According to an online report, Tauseef – a resident of Sadhudih village in Dumka district – was making videos of women who were bathing in a nearby river. The locals apprehended him while he was in the act. They took him to Kunwar seeking a Panchayat over the issue.

Kunwar later confessed to kicking Tauseef. The leader argued that by taking action against the accused, he prevented the possibility of a violent mob attack that could have endangered his life as the people of the area were extremely angry with him.

Kunwar stated that he escorted Tauseef to his residence after the Panchayat out of concern for his safety, the report further said. However, no case has been registered in this regard so far.

The short clip of Kunwar assaulting Tauseef is now going viral on social media. In the video, the accused can be seen crying and begging for mercy as crowds cheered. Netizens have started demanding action against the BJP leader for taking the matter into his hands.

Kunwar ran for the MLA position on the Jharkhand Vikas Morcha ticket in both the 2009 and 2014 elections, experiencing defeat on both occasions.
