Congress will contest all 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab on its own: Partap Singh Bajwa

The Leader of Opposition in Punjab assembly, Partap Singh Bajwa, said that Congress will win all Lok Sabha seats in elections next year.

Chandigarh: The Congress party Punjab leadership has announced to contest Lok Sabha elections, scheduled to take place in mid of 2024, on its own.

The Leader of Opposition in Punjab assembly, Partap Singh Bajwa, said that Congress will win all Lok Sabha seats in elections next year.

“With the kind of political atmosphere currently in the state, I am sure Congress will all 13 seats. I will request all party workers and leaders to stand with people of the state and listen to their problems,” said Bajwa.

Bajwa was speaking at a protest event organised by the flood-hit farmers of the state in Patiala.

On the issue of Congress and the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) sharing same coalition, INDIA, at the national level, Bajwa said the agreement is supposed to be only on the issue of alleged harassment by the governors in non-BJP-ruled states.

“Congress is supporting AAP only on the issue of interference by the Governors and LGs in the functioning of non-BJP ruled states. It has already been clarified by the party leaders several times in the past too,” said Bajwa.

Bajwa slams Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar

Reacting to the Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar’s allegations that Congress has agreed to tie up with AAP so that they can get their cases closed with the help of the state government, Bajwa said those who left the party should not worry about it.

“Those who are with Congress party are the real Congress workers and leaders. Jakhar should not live in any kind of misconception. Those dreaming of joining Congress party back should know this. It can happen only with the consultation of party’s leadership only”, Bajwa slammed Jakhar.
