Helicopter with Himachal Pradesh CM aboard makes emergency landing near Shimla

All onboard the chopper including Chief Minister Sukhu were reported to be safe.
Shimla: A helicopter transporting Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and other officials made an emergency landing at a field near Shimla on Thursday.
Sukhu along with the minister of public works, Chiryog MLA, and his press secretary was on the flight when it took a sudden turn from its designated landing site and landed 500 meters away in the Bithal area of Rampur.
The chief minister and others onboard were reported to be safe.

A helipad was constructed at the JSW company project premised but the chopper could not touch down there following the pilot executed a precautionary landing in a nearby field. The reason behind this has not been ascertained yet.
Further investigation into the incident has begun.
