A man in Hubballi, Karnataka, allegedly murdered a 20-year-old woman after she turned down his romantic advances, according to police reports on Wednesday.
According to the police report, the man forcefully entered the woman’s residence and attacked her with a knife while she was asleep. Authorities were alerted to the incident by a distress call and arrived at the scene.

The incident occurred on Veerapura Lane in Hubballi, Karnataka. The victim has been identified as Anjali Ambigera, while the accused, Vishwa, also known as Girish, is currently evading authorities since the incident was brought to light, the police stated.
Anjali, who had lost her parents and was residing with her grandmother, was employed at a canteen. According to eyewitnesses, Girish sought out Anjali’s grandmother, who was asleep, and expressed his desire to take Anjali with him. However, when Anjali declined, he swiftly produced a knife and inflicted multiple stab wounds on her.
According to the victim’s sister, Girish had previously confessed his love for Anjali to their grandmother and expressed his desire to marry her. However, the grandmother rejected his proposal, informing him that Anjali was not interested. Following this refusal, Girish allegedly threatened the grandmother, referencing the murder of Neha Hiremath. Subsequently, Anjali and her family filed a complaint with the police, who attempted to locate Girish but were unsuccessful, as revealed by the sister.
