A 16-year-old girl was allegedly raped by two people in a moving ambulance in Mauganj district of Madhya Pradesh on November 22. Police said that the incident took place at 108 ambulance when a minor, along with her sister and brother-in-law, was traveling in an ambulance.
On the pretext of fetching water, the survivor’s sister and brother-in-law alighted the bus, and the girl was taken by the ambulance driver and his associate, who was present in the ambulance.
Police said in a moving ambulance they raped her and kept her hostage. The next day, they dropped the girl at an isolated place and fled the spot. After the incident, the girl returned home and narrated the ordeal to her family members, but due to fear of social defamation, they did not approach the police.
After two days, on November 25, the survivor along with her family members finally approached the police station to file a complaint. On their complaint, a rape case was registered, and the suspect ambulance driver and his associate were arrested by police. Police also booked the survivor’s sister and brother-in-law for their involvement in the crime. Further investigation is underway.
