A member of the Bar Council of Gujarat, Paresh Vaghela made an announcement that he will boycott the event on December 30, 2024.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah will be attending the public event of Bar Council of Gujarat as the Chief Guest. This statement from a member of the Bar Council of Gujarat came over Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement on B R Ambedkar.
Paresh Vaghela stated that he would skip the event unless Amit Shah offered an apology.
The Bar Council of Gujarat has organized an Oath taking ceremony of on December 30. The event will be held at Vigyan Bhawan in Science City in Ahmedabad. The event is for the oath-taking ceremony for the advocates recently added to the state roll. A total 6,000 newly elected advocated will attend this event.
As quoted by Indian Express, Paresh Vaghela stated that, “If you (Shah) insult a person under whose leadership the Constitution was framed and do not apologies for three days, then why should I remain present in a programme having your presence (as chief guest)?”
The Chairman of the Bar Council of Gujarat JJ Patel accused Paresh of trying to do politics in the non-political event, as per media reports.
