What Happened That Panicked Pushpak Express Passengers Jumped On Tracks, 11 Killed News24 –


At least 8 Passengers of Pushpak Express were hit by Karnataka Express train in Jalgaon District. The passengers were outside their coaches suspecting some fire in the train. Railway officials and other staff have reached the spot.

The death toll in the Jalgaon train accident has risen to 11, with six others injured after the Karnataka Express hit passengers of the Pushpak Express on Wednesday, a senior official confirmed.

According to initial reports, the passengers had stepped out of their coaches due to a suspected fire on the Pushpak Express. While they were on the tracks, the Karnataka Express arrived on the adjacent track and hit them.

“As per the information, 11 people have died in the accident. Police and other officials are at the spot. Eight ambulances and several railway rescue vans have been sent to the site. The District Collector and DRM are in contact, and all possible help is being provided,” Nashik Divisional Commissioner Praveen Gedam told ANI

Information & Publicity Department of Railway Board, Executive Director, Dilip Kumar stated that, “A few passengers pulled alarm chain on Pushpak Express and deboarded the train. Bengaluru-New Delhi Karnataka Express was coming from the other side. We have received information of grievous injuries to a few passengers after getting hit by it.”

Maharashtra CM posted on his X handle and wrote that, “The tragic incident of the loss of lives in a very unfortunate incident near Pachora in Jalgaon district is deeply distressing. I pay my heartfelt tributes to them. My colleague Minister Girish Mahajan and the Superintendent of Police have reached the spot, and the District Collector will reach there shortly. The entire district administration is working in coordination with the railway administration, and immediate arrangements are being made for the treatment of the injured.”

Speaking to ANI, Maharashtra Deputy CM Eknath Shinde said that, “The Jalgaon incident is very unfortunate. I have collected details on it. I have spoken with the Collector and officers. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. Rescue operation is underway at the spot. Government is providing all help to everyone.”

Uttar Pradesh CMO stated “Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath expresses grief over the Pushpak train accident. He has ordered adequate medical treatment for the injured, also condoled the demise of passengers.”
