The 16th day of ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh began with unfortunate incident, where a stampede-like situation occurred, leaving several people injured. The 16th day of Maha Kumbh coincides with Mauni Amavasya. A large number of devotees are expected to take holy dip at Sangam ghat on this occasion. More than 80 to 100 million people are expected to gather at the Sangam Ghats on the occasion of Mauni Amavasya today.  The Maha Kumbh Mela began on 13 January and will conclude on 26 February.
