IMD Weather Update: The Western Himalayan Region is set to battle a fresh western disturbance starting today, February 25, 2025. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts rainy conditions to persist over the region till the 28th of February. The affected regions include Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh, likely to receive light to moderate rain during the period, with very heavy rain on February 27.

IMD predicts isolated light to moderate rain over Punjab, Haryana & Chandigarh from 26th Feb to 1st March and over West Uttar Pradesh & Rajasthan from the 27th of February. Additionally, East Uttar Pradesh would witness similar conditions on the 28th of Feb and 1st of March.
Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim will receive isolated to scattered light rain until today due to a cyclonic circulation brewing over northeast Assam.

A yellow alert has been issued for a heat wave in Mumbai and surrounding areas for today and tomorrow. IMD predicts the highest temperatures to reach up to 37-38 degrees Celcius.
