7 BJP MLAs Sworn In As Ministers News24 –


Ahead of Bihar assembly polls, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expanded his team on Wednesday, inducting seven ministers from the NDA ally Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Bihar Assembly elections are to be held in November this year.

Seven new ministers took an oath under the leadership of Nitish Kumar in the cabinet. The oath was read by Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan.

Now, the cabinet strength has reached 30, with 15 from the BJP, 13 from JD(U), one from Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM), and one from the Independents. Six seats are still vacant. After Wednesday’s induction, its total strength stands at 37.

“I congratulate all seven ministers who will work for the development of Bihar under the leadership of CM Nitish Kumar,” said Deputy CM Samrat Chaudhary.

In one of the great developments, Bihar Revenue Minister and BJP state president Dilip Jaiswal has resigned from his ministerial post, as he cited the party’s policy of ‘One Person, One Post.’

Earlier in January last year, after CM Nitish Kumar had decided to join the NDA, Jaiswal held the important Revenue and Land Reform portfolio.
