Heat Wave To Grip Gujarat, Konkan And Goa As Temperatures Rise Nationwide News24 –


Days are about to be getting hotter from March 9 in multiple regions. The Indian Meteorological Department predicts that a heat wave spell is likely over Gujarat state from March 9 to 12, and hot and humid weather is very likely to prevail over Konkan & Goa from March 9 to 11.

Forecast Temperatures

Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 3-4°C likely over plains of North-west India during the next 4 days and fall by 2-3°C thereafter.

Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C likely over Central India & Maharashtra and by 3-5°C over East India during the next 5 days.

Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C likely over Gujarat State during the next 4 days and fall by 2-3°C thereafter.

A gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-3°C is likely over north Peninsular India during the next 3 days, with no significant change thereafter.

No significant change in maximum temperatures is likely over north-east India during the next 2 days and will fall by 2-3°C during the subsequent 3 days. No significant change in maximum temperatures is likely over the rest of the country.

Heat Wave Warning

A heat wave is very likely to prevail over Saurashtra & Kutch from March 9 to 12, the Gujarat Region from 10 to 12, and over Konkan & Goa on 10th March.

Apart from this, a fresh Western Disturbance is seen as a cyclonic circulation over Iraq in lower to upper tropospheric levels. It is likely to move gradually eastwards and impact states of the Western Himalayan region during the next 10-12 March.

Past Weather In Delhi NCR

According to IMD, there has been a rise in minimum and maximum temperatures up to 2°C over Delhi/NCR during the past 2 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are in the range of 29 to 32°C and 13 to 15°, respectively.

The minimum temperature was near normal, and the maximum temperature was above normal, up to 2°C, in most places. Mainly clear sky conditions with predominant surface wind from the north-west direction with wind speeds less than 12 to 14 km/h prevailed during the past 24 hours. Mainly clear sky conditions with wind speeds less than 10 km/h from the south-east direction prevailed over the region in the forenoon today.
