Rain And Cloudy Skies To Disrupt Holi Celebrations In THESE States – Full Forecast Inside News24 –


IMD Weather Update: Ahead of Holi on 14th March 2025, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts isolated light rain across Northwest India with generally cloudy skies shrouding over the plains. The affected states poised to receive isolated heavy rainfall are Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Northeast states, Uttarakhand, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on 14th March. Additionally, the IMD predicts dry weather over the remaining parts of India. Due to a shift in weather trends, severe heat waves have been recorded over Saurashtra & Kutch in a few places during the past 24 hours.

Fresh Western Disturbance To Affect HP, Uttarakhand

Amid the changing weather, a fresh western disturbance brewing over West Iran and a cyclonic circulation over southwest Rajasthan will likely bring light to moderate showers and snowfall. The states that are going to be influenced include Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, expected to receive rainfall from 12th to 16th March. Additionally, Punjab will receive isolated light to moderate rain from the 12th to the 15th, Haryana and West Uttar Pradesh from the 13th to the 15th, and East UP on the 15th March.

IMD Warns Of 2 Troughs

A trough extending over the lower tropospheric levels and another running roughly in middle tropospheric levels is expected to bring fairly widespread light to moderate rain accompanied by thunderstorms & lightning over Arunachal Pradesh during 12th-15th March; Assam & Meghalaya on 14th & 15th; Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, & Tripura during 12th-16th with gusty winds blowing at 40 to 50 kmph.

Easterly Eave Activity To Bring Rain Across South

An easterly wave activity along with a trough lying over the Southwest Bay of Bengal off Tamil
Nadu coast will bring heavy to very heavy rain over South Interior Karnataka, Lakshadweep, Kerala & Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry & Karaikal today. Isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall is also likely over Andaman & Nicobar Islands during the next 7 days.
