Mumbai Woman Extorts Rs 18.5 Lakh, Frames Delhi Businessman For Rape; Arrested News24 –

The Mumbai Police arrested a woman for allegedly honey-trapping a 74-year-old businessman and extorting Rs 18.5 lakh from him. 

The police said the businessman filed a complaint with Malvani police station on March 7. He alleged that a 50-year-old woman extorted money from him. 

According to police, the businessman is a resident of Delhi. He lives with his son after his wife expired in 2015. He used to visit Mumbai for business work. He came in contact with the woman in May 2023. The woman introduced herself as a singer. The two went to Lonavala where they had physical relations. They often talked over the phone and video calls. 

A police officer said that the woman demanded Rs 12.50 lakh from him on June 1, 2023, to which he transferred through RTGS.  She again demanded Rs lakh from him and later Rs 1 and Rs 2 lakh on different occasions. 

The businessman got upset when the woman asked for Rs 4-5 crore for a house in September. 

On September 5, the woman spent time with him at a hotel in Goregaon and returned back with police personnel who arrested the victim. The businessman realised that he was honey-trapped. The businessman received a call from a person who told him that he had been duped by the woman. 

The police arrested the woman and launched a probe into the matter. The cops learned that the woman had filed a case of molestation against another man.
