Heavy Rain To Lash Arunachal Pradesh; Severe Heatwave & Warm Night Conditions Expected Over Odisha News24 –


IMD Weather Update: Weather systems continue to influence the atmospheric conditions across India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a Western Disturbance seen as a cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan and adjoining Jammu region to impact several states during the next week. Additionally, a cyclonic circulation brewing over northeast Rajasthan and a trough extending from southwest Uttar Pradesh to southwest Rajasthan is expected to bring fairly widespread light to moderate rain and snowfall accompanied by thunderstorm & lightning over the Western Himalayan region on 16th March, 2025.

The affected states include Jammu-Kashmir, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. The Met Body predicts another cyclonic Circulation looming over northeast Assam and neighbourhood. Under its influence, Arunachal Pradesh will receive light to moderate rain with gusty winds blowing at a speed of 30-40 kmph. Meanwhile, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura will witness rain accompanied by thunderstorm, lightning & gusty winds (speed 30-50 kmph) from 16th-19th March. Intensity of rain is likely to increase in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya on the 17th of March.

IMD Warns Of Heat wave, Warm Night, Hot & Humid Weather

According to IMD, heat to severe heatwave conditions is likely to prevail in isolated places over Odisha, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and north Telangana today, March 16, 2025. Gangetic West Bengal, Saurashtra & Kutch will witness similar conditions till 17th, while North Interior Karnataka will battle a heat wave on 18th and 19th March.

Warm night conditions are most likely to prevail in isolated pockets over Odisha during 16th to 18th March. Additionally, hot & humid conditions will persist in isolated pockets over Kerala & Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam on 16th and in Saurashtra & Kutch till 19th March.

Weather Forecast For Delhi

On the 17th of March, IMD predicts a clear sky with mist likely to prevail during the morning hours. Thereafter, on 18th March, partly cloudy skies with the possibility of mist are expected across the city. Strong surface winds will blow at a speed of 25 to 30 kmph during both these days. Meanwhile, the skies will remain partly cloudy on the 19th and 20th of March. Residents will witness a clear sky on the 20th.
