The topographical study of the three metro routes in Noida will take place simultaneously. This survey is essential for the Noida Metro expansion project, which aims to extend services between Botanical Garden and Sector-142, Sector-51 and Knowledge Park-5, and Greno Depot and Bodaki.
Public authorities have granted permission to advance the Noida Metro through the detailed project report (DPR) for all three routes. The work will commence after approval from the Central Government. The expansion from Botanical Garden to Sector-142 will be the first phase of development. The plan also includes the extension from Noida Depot to Bodaki.
A stretch of 11.56 km will be constructed between Botanical Garden and Sector-142. The DPR has been submitted to the Centre after receiving approval from the state cabinet. The construction, expected to take five years, will accommodate daily passenger traffic of approximately 1 to 1.25 lakh individuals. The project cost is estimated at Rs 2,254.35 crore. The metro corridor will include stations at Botanical Garden, Noida Sector-44, Noida Office, Noida Sector-97, Noida Sector-105, Noida Sector-108, Noida Sector-93, and Panchsheel Balak Inter College, with Sector-142 serving as the final stop, as this station is already operational.
Additionally, the UP cabinet has approved the extension of the Aqua Line Metro from Greno Depot to Bodaki, covering a distance of 2.6 km. This expansion will require an investment of ₹416.34 crore. The new stations in this segment will be Junpat Village and Bodaki, while the depot station is already in place.
The construction of the 17.435 km Sector-51 to Knowledge Park-5 metro route requires Rs 394 crore from the Government of India and an additional Rs 394 crore from the state government. The funding is split between the Greater Noida Authority and the state government, with respective contributions of 60% and 40%. The projected budget for the full-scale development amounts to Rs 2,991 crore, while the 11-station corridor receives funding.
The route comprises eleven stations, starting from Sector-51 and continuing through Sector-61, Sector-70, Sector-122, and Sector-123. It then extends to Sector-4 (Greater Noida), Sector-12 Ecotech, and ends at Sector-2, Sector-3, Sector-10, and Sector-12 (all part of Greater Noida), followed by Knowledge Park-5 (Greater Noida).
