Man Tries To Immolate Himself In Bhavnagar After Receiving Threats From Wife And In-Laws News24 –

A man attempted to immolate himself in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar. The man took the step after allegedly facing continuous harassment and threats from his wife and in-laws. 

According to News 24, the man, Shahrukh Qasim Bhai Mira, claimed that he was continuously receiving threats from his wife and in-laws. He said they are demanding Rs four lakh from him. Shahrukh said his wife and in-laws threatened him while mentioning laws of misuse of women’s rights. 

He said his wife made several threats. He was feeling insecure. The police registered a case against Shahrukh’s wife and his in-laws. The police launched a detailed probe into the matter. 

In a separate incident, a man was killed by a married woman’s father and brother in Rural Ahmedabad on March 23. The deceased has been identified as Shantubha Zanubha Solanki. He was killed by the woman’s brother Vishalsinh Vikramsinh Solanki and father, Vikramsinh Sardarsinh Solanki. 

The gruesome incident took place  in Bhat Vasna village in Detroj Taluka. According to reports, the woman’s brother had seen Shantubha and his sister exchanging smiles with each other at the event. He was upset with the episode and along with his father, stabbed  Shantubha to death. 

A senior police officer said that the accused usd large knife to commit the offence. The police said that the woman and the deceased had been in a relationship for the past six years.
