A woman was beaten to death by her husband after she refused to give him money for liquor in Uttar Pradesh’s Jaunpur district. The incident took place in Kekuti village. The deceased has been identified as Manju.

Manju’s husband Bacchan Gautam was addicted to liquor and he had often fought with her. Manju had gone to the field to harvest crops. Gautam reached the spot and asked her for money, but she refused.

Manju asked her to go home. But, Gautam got outraged with her behaviour and started thrashing her in the field. Gautam took her clothes off and struck her with a brick.

Doctors declared Manju dead on arrival

Manju died on the spot. People alerted the police, who rushed to the spot and sent Manju to hospital. The doctors declared her dead on arrival.

Police arrest Gautam

The police arrested Gautam and sent the body for postmortem. Manju is survived by two children. The police launched a probe into the matter and assured justice to Manju and her kids.
