Delhi Sizzles At 40°C, Heatwave Warning Issued For Several Regions News24 –


As temperatures continue to climb across various regions of India, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2–4°C over Northwest, Central, and parts of Western and Southern India over the coming days.

Several regions, including Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Gujarat, are expected to experience persistent heatwave conditions, while parts of coastal regions like Konkan and Goa may face hot and humid weather. In Delhi-NCR, temperatures have already risen significantly, with maximum readings soaring above normal by up to 5°C.

Temperature Forecast

1. Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-4°C likely over many parts of Northwest India during next 6 days.

2. Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 2-4°C likely over many parts of central India during next 7 days.

3. Gradual rise in maximum temperatures by 3-4°C likely over Maharashtra during next 7 days.

4. No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over Gujarat during next 24 hours and rise by 2-3°C for subsequent 4 days.

5. No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over south peninsular India during next 2 days and rise by 2-4°C during subsequent 3 days.

6. No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over rest parts of the country during next 7 days.

    Heat Wave And Hot & Humid Weather Warning

    Heat Wave conditions very likely to continue to prevail at isolated pockets of Saurashtra & Kutch, south Haryana, Delhi during 04th-09th; West Uttar Pradesh during 05th-09th; Himachal Pradesh during 05th-07th; Punjab, Gujarat Region during 06th-09th; West Rajasthan during 05th-10th; Gujarat Region during 06th-08th; East Rajasthan, during 06th-10th; West Madhya Pradesh during 07th-10th April. Hot & humid weather is likely over Gujarat state during 04th-10th and over Konkan & Goa during 05th-09th April, 2025.

    Past Weather In Delhi NCR

    There has been rise in minimum and maximum temperature up to 03 °C over Delhi/NCR during the past 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are in the range of 38 to 40 °C and 18 to 21 °C respectively. The minimum temperature was near normal and maximum temperature was above normal up to 05 °C at most places.

    Mainly clear sky conditions with predominant surface wind from the southwest/southeast direction with wind speeds less than 10 to 12 kmph prevailed during the past 24 hours. Mainly clear sky conditions with wind speed less than 08 kmph from the southwest direction prevailed over the region in the forenoon today.
