A massive fire broke out at a police (Malkhana) yard in Delhi’s Wazirabad on Sunday. Over 150 vehicles were gutted in the fire. The incident reportedly took place at 4:30 a.m.
Over 150 vehicles burnt
At least 7 fire tenders rushed to the spot and brought it under control around 6:20 am. According to a report, the police said over 150 vehicles, including two and four-wheelers, were burnt in the incident.
The police officials have launched a thorough probe into the incident. The cops will also examine the CCTV footage.
Delhi Fire Service issued statement
“A fire broke out today wee Hours in the malkhana located behind PTC Wazirabad in the South District, near Khajuri Khas, Delhi. A total of seven fire tenders were rushed to the spot after receiving the alert. The blaze was brought under control by 6:20 AM, though cooling operations were still underway”, Delhi Fire Service said in a statement.
Major fire broke out in Jhandewalan on April 1
Earlier, on April 1, a fire broke out in the Anarkali building in Jhandewalan, spreading to the nearby DDA Shopping Complex. On information, several fire tenders were rushed to the spot, and firefighters, along with Delhi Police personnel, are engaged in dousing the flames.
According to reports, some vehicles parked in the vicinity also caught fire.
In a separate incident, a fire broke out in a vacant plot in Delhi’s Shaheen Bagh area. Several fire tenders have reached the spot and effort is on to douse the fire.
