Mining Mafia Attacks Yamuna Authority Team In Greater Noida; Opens Fire, Overturns Official Vehicle With Bulldozer News24 –

Yamuna Authority: A shocking incident took place in Greater Noida, where officials of Yamuna Authority were attacked by mining mafias. As per reports, the accused even opened fire on the officials, but everyone managed to escape unharmed. After this, the accused overturned the officials’s car using the authority’s bulldozer. The authority claims that they have lodged a complaint with the police, whereas the police say they have not yet received any written complaint.

Firing On Officials

Assistant Manager (Project) of the Yamuna Authority, mentioned that his team had received information about illegal mining in the Dankaur area. He, along with the authority’s supervisor Pramod Kumar, gunman Harendra Singh, Udayveer Singh, and security personnel Vinod Kumar, reached the spot. There, they found the mafia engaged in illegal mining. A bulldozer and four dumpers were present at the site. It is alleged that when the officials asked them to stop the mining, the mafia, along with their associates, started firing at the team. All team members saved their lives by lying down on the ground.

Officials Escape To Police Station

The team members were running towards the government vehicle, but then the accused overturned the vehicle with a bulldozer. Officers said that somehow the team members reached Kotwali after escaping from the spot. There they informed the police. The assistant manager of the authority has lodged a complaint against 10 people including one named person. In this regard, the police says that no written complaint has been received from the Yamuna Authority yet. Action will be taken by registering a case after receiving the complaint.

Similar Attack A Month Ago

The authority is developing several sectors and handing over physical possession to allottees. To prevent illegal mining and encroachment in these sectors, security personnel have been deployed. Despite this, mining mafias are using JCB machines for illegal mining. The soil is being loaded into dumpers and transported elsewhere. Earlier, on February 3, the Assistant Manager of the Authority had also filed a case in Rabupura. In that incident, illegal soil mining caused damage to roads and pipelines.
