Jammu and Kashmir: Chaos erupted at the Jammu airport on Saturday evening, April 19, after multiple flights were cancelled due to bad weather in Srinagar. According to reports, the weather turned extreme after a cloud burst reportedly took place at the Nagesheri Forest area in Kishtwar. Meanwhile, connecting flights from Srinagar to other places were also delayed or cancelled due to the severe weather. The situation is currently being analysed by the district administration.

According to reports, passengers held airlines and aviation authorities responsible for the inconvenience caused. Following this, alternative or connecting flights were being provided to the stranded commuters.

As per reports, a night landing facility is not available at the Jammu Airport. The stranded passengers demanded night flights to be operated to help them reach their destination.
Huge Tree Falls On Bunker In Srinagar
Earlier today, a CRPF personnel was injured after a tree fell on a bunker and gate near Amar Singh Club in Srinagar. An official said that a tree, uprooted by strong winds, crashed onto the CRPF installation. He was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. Shortly after the incident, the authorities launched clearance operations in the area.
IMD Issues Orange Alert
Resident must note that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has sounded an orange alert over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh on 20th and 21st April. Meanwhile, the Met Department has also cautioned against an isolated hailstorm over Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, and Uttarakhand tomorrow.
