Himachal Pradesh is bracing up for weather changes with thunderstorm and rain forecast on April 21. The Regional Meteorological Centre of Himachal Pradesh has predicted light to moderate rainfall across Kullu, Mandi, Kangra districts in the early hours of Monday. While some specific areas are likely to witness intense weather conditions, including thunderstorms, lightning, hail, and gusty winds. India Meteorological Department’s nowcast bulletin has predicted light to moderate rain accompanied by isolated spells of intense rainfall over Kullu, Mandi, and Kangra districts of the state.
Residents must note that these spells are likely to be accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds reaching speeds of 40 to 50 kmph, and occasional hailstorm.
Forecast For Shimla & Other Regions
If we talk about how the weather will be in capital, Shimla is expected to witness a generally cloudy sky. Very light rain is likely at a few isolated pockets. Moreover, light rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning, may also occur in certain areas within the Shimla district.
Furthermore, the IMD has noted that light rain is likely to lash few locations in Chamba, Lahaul-Spiti, and Kinnaur districts. However, no significant weather activity is anticipated in the remaining districts of the state.
Most parts of the state will see improvement in weather conditions from Monday morning onwards. But higher altitudes in Lahaul-Spiti, Kinnaur, and parts of Chamba, Kangra, and Kullu are expected to experience light precipitation.
While Himachal Pradesh witnesses rain, other parts of the country are reeling under heatwave.

The IMD has issued heatwave warnings for various parts of India on following days:
Heatwave conditions are likely to be seen in the Southern area of Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh from April 22 to 24. Similarly, Rajasthan and Haryana will face heatwave conditions from April 23 to 24. Vidarbha is also likely to experience heatwave conditions between April 21 and 23. Meanwhile, hot and humid weather is anticipated in Madhya Maharashtra and Marathwada on April 20; in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal from April 20 to 22; and across Gujarat State from April 22 to 24.
