Occasionally, an incident arises that’s too bizarre to ignore—not due to administrative errors or delays, but because it blurs the lines between personal conviction and official duty. One such case in Gujarat in 2018 continues to fuel conversations about professional conduct, all sparked by an extraordinary letter.
As reported by The Times of India, Rameshchandra Fefar, a senior engineer with the Sardar Sarovar Punarvasvat Agency (SSPA), had come under scrutiny for his prolonged absence from work. When asked for a formal explanation, his response caught everyone off guard.
As quoted by the Times of India, Fefar mentioned, “I am indeed the tenth incarnation of Lord Vishnu and I will prove it in the coming days.”
Fefar started his spiritual journey back in 2010 after he received his divine identity during which he began his global consciousness mission even though this mission required him to remain home. Sources show that his activities did not end there. The patriarch expressed that his spiritual acts have brought ongoing excellent rainfall across India for the past nineteen years.

His statements about weather credit did not mark the end of his declarations. With his comment spreading rapidly online, he stated that withholding his gratuity fund could compel him to use his spiritual abilities to create a drought. Together with the strange circumstances the statement created extra complexity in the already remarkable case.
The general population reacted quickly. Social media was soon filled with memes, satire, and commentary, making Fefar a national talking point. Inside the SSPA officials took this matter with great gravity. The long period of his absence created major setbacks for essential rehabilitation works associated with the Sardar Sarovar dam. The internal conflict at the agency presented an extraordinary situation because employees lacked a standard procedure to deal with someone withholding work duties based on divine orders.
The matter remains present in political discussions and news retrospectives as well as office meetings and public dialogue about the situation. No valid evidence has appeared since Fefar made his peculiar claims, and officials have not publicly disclosed consequences or punishments. This case forces organizations to ask vital questions regarding their response to employees who combine faith with professional requirements. Current procedures remain unclear for managing abnormal occurrences beyond institutional standards.
