In a tragic incident, a student died by suicide in Kota, Rajasthan after hanging from the ceiling. The deceased was identified as a resident of Bihar’s Katihar. Jawahar Nagar police team rushed to the spot upon getting information. The body was taken down from the noose and kept in the mortuary of Maharao Bhim Singh Hospital (MBS Hospital). It is being told that the deceased student had come to Kota from Bihar only 15 days ago to prepare for NEET. The Police is currently carrying further investigation into the case. A total of 14 students have died by suicide in Kota this year (2025).
Earlier, on April 22, an 18-year-old NEET aspirant died by suicide in his hostel room. The police recovered a suicide note from his room, purportedly written by the boy. In the note, he mentioned that he blames neither his NEET-UG preparation nor his family responsible for his death.
According to reports, the deceased who hailed from Bihar’s Chapra city, was a student at a Kota coaching institute for a year. Circle inspector Arvind Bhardwaj from Kunhadi PS informed that he was residing in the Landmark City area. Reports revealed that the student sent a message to his sister before taking the extreme step via WhatsApp. Following this, she contacted the hostel warden and urged her to check on him.
Shortly after, when the warden did not receive any response after knocking at his door, he immediately informed authorities. Police broke into the room forcefully and found the student hanging from the ceiling fan. He had used an iron hook place above the anti-suicide device to carry out the terrifying act. Notably, the reason for his death is not yet known.
