Police Constable Suspended For Slapping Woman On Road News24 –

A police constable was suspended after a video in which he was seen assaulting a man and a woman surfaced on social media platforms on Tuesday, police said, adding the incident took place in the Greater Noida, Beta 2 area. The incident allegedly took place on the night of Sunday (April 27) in front of Holy Public School in the limits of the Beta-2 police station.

The Incident

Bhupendra Malik was posted as a police constable in a PRV during his shift when a home guard joined him following an emergency phone report about a road accident. An argument between the officers and those who initiated the emergency call emerged during the encounter.

Incident Caught On Camera

One of the viewers at the scene recorded the incident. The video shows the constable striking the female. The footage rapidly circulated on social networks, where it caused major internet discussion among users.

If the incident had no recorded video, then what would police believe about the shameful behaviour of UP police? Many people asked through social media why police perform these activities every day. Did the Constitution promise these actions to public citizens as part of its public charter?

Police Action

Senior police officials conducted a departmental investigation along with suspending Constable Bhupendra Malik from duty. A police report has been forwarded to the commandant of the Home Guard for implementing appropriate measures regarding the Home Guard who stood at the location.
