IMD Weather Update: Several states woke up to witness a dramatic shift in weather on Saturday morning. Meanwhile, rain accompanied by thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds swept through multiple regions. According to IMD’s latest press release, isolated heavy rainfall is predicted over Odisha on 3rd and 4th May, and over Assam & Meghalaya during 5th to 7th May. Torrential rain is also expected to lash Arunachal Pradesh on the 5th and 6th May. The other affected regions include South Interior Karnataka, Kerala & Mahe, Tamil Nadu, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh.
Weather Forecast For Coming Week
The coming week is likely to bring more cloudy skies, with chances of showers and thunderstorms. The Met Department has predicted light showers and strong winds (gusting to 60 Km/h) over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal, and Sikkim till 3rd May. Additionally, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh will witness rain from 3rd to 5th May.

Thundersquall Warning
Residents must brace for thundersquall reaching 50 to 60 Km/h and later gusting up to 70 Km/h at isolated places over West Madhya Pradesh on 5th and 6th; East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh on 3rd, 4th; Vidarbha on 03rd; Gangetic West Bengal, Jharkhand on 3rd; Bihar on 4th and Odisha on 3rd & 4th May.
Rain To Lash Multiple States
According to IMD, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttarakhand may face significant traffic disruptions from 3rd to 6th May due to rain. Meanwhile, isolated hailstorm activity is most likely over North Interior Karnataka on 5th & 6th May; Sikkim, Odisha, Chhattisgarh on 3rd; East Madhya Pradesh on 4th May. People residing in Gujarat, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Marathawada are urged to plan their travel as strong winds and rain are likely to hit during 3rd-8th May.
