Security Forces On High Alert Along LOC Amidst Intensified Counter-Terrorism Operations News24 –

In the wake of heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, security forces have been placed on high alert along the Line of Control (LOC) in the Kashmir Valley. This escalation follows the tragic Baisaran Pahalgam terrorist attack that claimed the lives of 26 tourists, prompting a swift and decisive response from the Indian armed forces.

Since the attack, which has been condemned nationwide, Indian Army and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel have intensified their vigilance along the LOC, particularly in frontier districts. Over the past 13 days, there have been multiple ceasefire violations by the Pakistani army and rangers, leading to a robust and coordinated response from Indian forces aimed at thwarting infiltration attempts by terrorists.

On April 23, just a day after the Baisaran attack, Indian army successfully foiled a significant infiltration bid in the URI sector close to LOC. The ongoing operations involve not only monitoring the LOC but also conducting extensive sanitization efforts in the forested areas of North Kashmir, and around the Pir Panjal range, where it is believed that the attackers may be hiding.

Special teams comprising para commandos from the army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Operation Group (SOG) have been deployed to conduct thorough searches and eliminate any potential terrorist hideouts in the Pir Panjal range around the Baisaran, Pahalgam.

Apart from the Pir Panjal range, similar search and domination operations are being conducted in the areas close to the LOC, as part of a broader strategy to ensure the safety of people and prevent any further attacks in the Valley.

Sources within the army indicate that these counter-terrorism measures are a direct response to the Baisaran incident, with a clear mandate to dismantle terrorist networks operating in the forest area’s . “Intense counter-terrorism operations are underway at several locations across Jammu and Kashmir,” said a senior army official.
