Temperature Surge Expected In Northwest And West, Hot And Humid In South News24 –


Temperature trends in India are showing diverse movement with no notable change seen in many regions if not all regions in northwest, central and other parts of the country in the near future. However, temperatures are set to gradually rise later this week in several regions with northwest and west India having the most sharp rise in temperature. West India regions are expected to see a gradual drop in maximum temperatures over the next seven days.

Hot and humid conditions prevail, likely worsening in parts of southern India (Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe) during the early days of May. In the Delhi-NCR region: Both maximum and minimum temperatures have risen significantly over the past 24 hours, although temperatures (maximum and minimum) are lower than normal. Sun and sky conditions are partly to generally cloudy, along with light winds southerly and southwesterly.

Temperature Forecast

1. No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over Northwest India & Central India during next 4 days and rise by 2-3°C thereafter for subsequent 4 days.

2. No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over West India during next 3 days and rise by 3-5°C thereafter for subsequent 4 days.

3. Gradual fall in maximum temperature likely over West India by 3-5°C during next 7 days.

4. No significant change in maximum temperatures likely over rest parts of the country

Hot & humid weather is likely to prevail over Tamil Nadu Puducherry & Karaikal on 04th and Kerala & Mahe 04th & 05th May.

Past Weather In Delhi NCR

There has been a rise in minimum temperature up to 02°C and rise in maximum temperature up to 05 – 06°C over Delhi/NCR during the past 24 hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures over Delhi are in the range of 33 to 35°C and 22 to 24°C respectively. The minimum temperature was below normal up to 01 -02°C and maximum temperature was below normal up to 04 – 06°C over Delhi/NCR.

Partly cloudy sky conditions with predominant surface wind from the southeast direction with wind speeds less than 18 kmph prevailed during the past 24 hours. Generally cloudy sky conditions with wind speed less than 14 kmph from the southwest direction prevailed over the region in the forenoon today.
