OGW Decides Target Venue & Timing- Former LeT Overground Worker Exposes Terror Network In J&K News24 –
In a shocking revelation, a former LeT overground worker has exposed how the Pahalgam terror attack may have been planned. He claimed the attack wouldn’t have been possible without the support of a local overground worker (OGW). “OGW provide logistics to the terrorists, including food and hideouts,” the former OGW said to India Today. He admits to feeling ashamed of his past actions and confirms that recent attacks, like the one in Pahalgam, would not be possible without OGW support.
India Today’s exclusive report features a former local overground worker (OGW) revealing how he was recruited by the LeT and participated in multiple operations, including a grenade attack. He was once arrested in connection with the incident but was later released as he was a minor at the time. He has now kept a distance from the OGW and the terrorists. It should be noted that LeT also recruits minors as overground workers (OGWs).
“Only OGWs can identify the most suitable venue and timing for a terror attack, ensuring that the location is free of army presence.” He has been heard. According to him, the forest contains several hideouts known only to OGWs and local residents of Kashmir.
Who Is An Overground Worker (OGW)
Overground Workers (OGWs) are individuals who help terrorist groups by offering support such as money, shelter, transport, or information, without being directly involved in fighting or attacks. In Jammu and Kashmir, they play a key role in aiding terror outfits like Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and The Resistance Front (TRF). OGWs often live like regular civilians, which makes them difficult for security forces to identify. They gather information, help plan attacks, and ensure terrorists get the help they need to move and act.
An Alleged OGW Drowns In Kulgam While Trying To Evade Army
A 23-year-old Over Ground Worker (OGW) associated with terrorist groups drowned in the Vaishav Nallah of Kulgam South Kashmir, while attempting to evade security forces. The body of Imtiaz Ahmad Magray, a resident of Tangmarg, was recovered from the river on Sunday after he jumped into the fast-moving waters during a police operation.
According to official sources, Magray had been under surveillance following his confession to authorities about his involvement with two Pakistani terrorist hideouts. On May 3, he was detained and admitted to providing food and logistics to terrorists operating in the Tangmarg forest area. Following his cooperation, he agreed to assist security forces in locating a terrorist hideout.
